It's okay to love and to be loved.

Whoop, whoop...(or not really) our neighbor was on CNN just now.  He is the local Sheriff and he was making a press statement regarding a boy in our community named Daniel Hauser.  You might have seen him and his family in the news.  He has been court ordered to receive chemo treatments for his cancer.

What a sad story this began as and is quickly turning into a tragedy.  Because the law interfered where it should not have (obviously just my opinion) this family has been forced to make some not-so-smart decisions in order to live life free and to live it however they choose.  From our point of view the parent's showed no intent to harm their son and they should be allowed to treat his cancer however they see fit.  Let freedom ring and parents given their liberty back.

Meanwhile, our cute Sheriff neighbor who blips his lights and siren when seeing us near our alley, will be in search of this mom and son who are simply attempting to gain control in their life when control was taken away.

I am with you 100%. The government should not be involved in this situation. Whether or not we agree with the family's choice, it is not our place or the government's place to force treatment on them. Matt asked an interesting question when we were discussing this: "If something bad happens as a result of the boy receiving chemo, does the family get to sue the state?" Who would be responsible? Suddenly the lines become very blurred.

Dad asked that very question to me today. He did state that we cannot sue the government. The lines are very blurred indeed.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one that thought it was wrong for the government to get involved. The media definitely wants you to side with the law on this one. No thanks.
