"Not My Child Monday" - but, this is Tuesday

It was not my child that pretended to get ready for bed oh so sweetly and then burst into tears and defiance once the final kiss and hug were administered. Nope. My child would never act that way each and every time I try to put her to sleep. And she most certainly did not ask me to apologize for sturnly (um, yeah, sure, "sturnly"...) placing her back on her bed even thought she had received ample explaining and prompting prior to the action her nine month pregnant mother took. Hence, the need for some action by the mother.

It was not my child that ran away from me repeatedly, sounding like a dying, squeeling piglet while holding a completely safe popsicle stick (and not an object that could stab into her with the slightest fall) when over at a friend's house for dinner. My children listen when given directions and obey my every command.

How many times can two little girls earn the right to consequences in one single, short little day? Ah, the ups and downs of parenting. Now when is Steve going to get home from golf and clean-up this house?

August 14th is the estimate. We'll see!

When is your birthday, girl? I've been celebrating a little each day thinking about you.
