Pockets

Lately, Evelyn has been in the practice of walking around with her hands in her pockets. They can be pockets on a sweatshirt, her coat, or if available, her pants. Just last week, she happened to be walking down from upstairs with her hands in her pants pockets. You can see where this is heading. She took the last step to even ground and stumbled forward. As she struggled to keep her footing, she eventually landed up doing a faceplant about five feet away from the place of her initial stumble. As Anna picked her up of the floor, the words, "Me hurt my mustache", could be distinguished through her crying. Evelyn had landed on her upper lip area and chose to refer to it as her "mustache". It's hard to maintain composure in those moments because they are so darn cute and you know that the bumps and bruises are not serious, but you have to empathize for the sake of your child's feelings.
